The event will demonstrate STEAM concepts, educational and career pathways.

Business Plan Competition Overview
The Northland Business Plan Competition is the Minnesota iteration of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program (award #1902003) project titled “Educating Entrepreneurial Technicians for Unmanned Aerial Systems”. Business Plan Competitions under this grant have been held at Sinclair College (Dayton, OH) and Atlantic Cape Community College (Hamilton, NJ).

The Northland Business Plan Competition is a three-day Drone Business Plan Bootcamp, culminating in a pitch event. The first day will include an overview of sUAS regulations, hardware, and software. It will culminate in two panel discussions, divided into autonomous and piloted applications. The second day participants will get valuable instruction on types of business models, potential funding sources, and the foundations required to build a cohesive business plan executive summary and pitch deck. The third day, participants will work with University Entrepreneurship students to refine their business models, executive summaries, and pitch decks, then present to a panel of judges.
