ABOUT THE EVENT
Drone Safety Day is an annual campaign by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) designed to help the community understand the importance of flying drones safely. Drone Safety Day will highlight the social and economic benefits of safe drone operations. This event focuses on areas such as education, the economy, equity, the environment, and emergency response.
This is a great opportunity for businesses, schools, and organizations to share how they use drones, as well as to launch new safety initiatives. For drone enthusiasts, this is a chance to share their passion with friends, family, and the local community through virtual, in-person, or hybrid events.
At this event, we will highlight how drones are used in emergency situations such as natural disasters, search and rescue, firefighting, public safety, and other applications. This event is aimed at first responders and is free of charge.
As part of this nationwide initiative, a Visual Observer and Ground Coordinator course will be offered for first response personnel who attend. This activity is scheduled for April 25, 2026, at the Inter-American University of Bayamón, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
