Vincent A. DiNoto, Jr., GISP, holds a MA and BS from Indiana State University in Physics and is currently Dean of College and Systemic Initiatives and a full Professor of Physics, Astronomy and GIS at Jefferson Community and Technical College. He is the Director/ PI of the National Geospatial Technology Center of Excellence (GeoTech Center).
He has been PI, Co-PI and senior team member on numerous ATE grants including being Co-PI of three different national centers and Project Director of a regional center. He has created numerous courses including some of the first online offerings in Kentucky. His most recent course development has been in Learn on Demand, which provides access throughout the traditional semester.
He continues to teach course each semester. He also remains active in research with current topics being Water Powered Mills (most recent article on the two great armories of the U.S.), the topography of Civil War Battlefields using LiDAR, as well as Urban Heat Island Field Data Collection with Citizen Scientist (which allows non-scientist/technologist to collect valuable information). He is married with two grown children and is an avid bicycle rider.
