Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Drone Application Certificate
The UAS-Drone Applications Certificate is offered under the Criminal Justice Administration Program and is compromised of three UAS courses and one elective course relevant to the emphasis area. This 12 credit-hour certificate program prepares students to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot exam under 14 CFR Part 107, the required certification for all commercial and municipal UAS-drone pilots operating within the U.S. airspace.
This certificate also prepares students to operate in the national air space by teaching the skills, tactics, techniques and procedures needed to pre-plan and fly drone missions, including creating flight logs and pre-and-post mission planning reports. The certificate provides additional training in recording and editing advanced-level photography and video from the drones unique and challenging aerial perspective.
